Who we are
A few words about us
The Trevejos estate is situated at an altitude of 1200 meters in the municipality of Vilaflor.
Its founder envisioned it as a small haven of natural life in which to perpetuate the
and traditional, and therefore ecological, uses for the maintenance of crops, flora and fauna in the region.
In a natural setting with breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains, Canary Island vines such as listán blanco, listán negro and negra mol are cultivated in a traditional and ecological way, which give rise to the famous wines of the ABONA designation of origin.
A site of protected natural landscape
The original Bodega dates back to 1950 and was the first building on the estate.
Its owner, concerned about the great changes in temperature between day and night, like many winegrowers in the area, wanted to take advantage of the unevenness of the land so that it was almost buried in the back part of the vineyard and thus protect the wines from the high temperatures.
In this way, he produced white wines with great strength due to the mineral richness of the area.
In 1985, Antonio Tavío, a tourist businessman and great wine lover, acquired the first 45,000 meters of the estate and gradually increased it to the 200,000 square meters it occupies today.
Flora and Fauna
The farm maintains a small “Noah’s Ark”, where a wide range of animals live together, most of them endemic to the archipelago, with a carefully selected natural diet, such as the famous Canarian black pig, goats, herreña sheep, pelibuey sheep, turkeys, partridges, quails, pigeons, turtledoves, parakeets, ducks, rabbits, guinea fowl and guinea fowl.
Its fruit trees: pear trees, apple trees, almond trees, cherry trees, fig trees, walnut trees, chestnut trees, plum trees, peach trees, quince trees, orange trees, etc… and a variety of native flora are other attractions of the estate.
